What's the difference between Optical Mouse & Laser Mouse?

I hang on to hearing around them but not sure what's the difference if there is any...Ummm

What's the difference between Optical Mouse & Laser Mouse?

A laser mouse uses a red laser diode while an optical mouse uses a red LED. A laser is more expensive and provides much better resolution. Laser mice might on some surfaces that optical mice go amiss to pick up the detail. Laser mice are usually more responsive than optical mice.
