Why i can't play dvd surrounded by my compuer?

i own got dvd writer and i am running window vista home basic next to media player 11 and still doesn't play dvd movies don't know why?

the codecs to play dvds may be missing within the media player

try downloading k-lite next to media player classic

maybe beacuse its a vcd? not a dvd? otherwise your drivers might not be installed properly.
Because of DRM issues beside DVD's you have to enjoy the proper codec to play a DVD. Vista is even more resrtictive about this than XP be. WMP won't play DVD's out of the box unfortunately any. Fortunately you don't have to compensate to play though. Get the VLC media player from http://www.videolan.org after installing and running the application chose File -> Open disk, contained by the box that comes up just click the OK button.

it can clear dvd's and it is for free.



another software is WinDVD but it's not free.
